AI Task Force
Our future project: artificial intelligence
Since the beginning of the year, our Task Force has been integrating artificial intelligence into our digital solutions portfolio — from Microsoft Copilot integrations to process automation with ChatGPT or Gemini, all the way to implementing our own AI solutions using machine learning and large language models.
In November 2023, Sustain presented its AI solutions at a roadshow in Belgium and Luxembourg — with over 500 attendees in Liège, St. Vith and Bettembourg.

Sustainability and digitalization: Sustain has been active in West Africa since 2015 in sustainable development, digitalization and vocational training.
3C Competence Center
From building a strategic vision to a sustainable business model
From 2015 to 2020, Sustain and the GTB competence center supported the Luxembourg development agency Luxdevelopment in transforming CERMI (Centre en Energies Renouvelables et de Maintenance Industrielle) in Praia, Cape Verde, into a private company with a sustainable business plan — the foundation of today’s 3C Competence Center (cdc3c.com).
Business Partnership Facility
Innovative technology to reduce energy and water losses
In December 2019, Sustain, together with partner Interact, won a tender from Luxdevelopment’s “Business Partnership Facility”: the BPF project “Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development – AISD” for the advanced digitalization — including artificial intelligence — of the water and energy networks on Santiago Island, Cape Verde. Goal: reduce losses by 30 to 50%.
Smart Systems
Digitalization in Cabo Verde
In 2019, Sustain co-founded the Smart City Foundation Cabo Verde together with Loide Monteiro — with the aim of becoming West Africa’s first smart-city lab. This gave rise to the “Nos Zona Smart” smart-city project in Praia as well as a model for Smart Climate Agriculture. In 2019, Sustain also signed a multi-year agreement with the Cape Verdean Secretary of State for Digitalization to turn Cape Verde into a regional ICT hub.
Centre de Compétences
Ivory Coast
Since 2020, Sustain’s vocational-training experts have been working with the “Conseil National des Branches Professionnelles – CNBP” and Ivory Coast’s Ministry of Vocational Training on an innovative model: “Pôles de Compétences des Branches Professionnelles”. Three pilot projects launch this year: carbon efficiency, ICT and agro-industry.
